The SBU exposed a scheme to evade mobilization in Odesa: the leadership of the “renovated MSEK”

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a scheme to evade mobilization in the south of the country. In the Odesa region, the head and two members of the local expert commission for evaluating the daily functioning of a person (former MSEK) were detained, who issued fake medical certificates for money.
For the sum of three thousand dollars, they issued to conscripted men fake reports about serious diseases with the subsequent establishment of a disability group.
The event organizer involved the presiding cardiologist and medical registrar in the scheme, who helped to “stamp” documents Law enforcement officers have documented at least fifty cases in which clients paid for the opportunity to avoid mobilization or discharge from the service. All three participants of the scheme were caught red-handed while receiving another bribe.
During the searches, they found draft notes, personal files of conscripts and smartphones with evidence of illegal activities. The extras were charged under Articles 368 and 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are currently in custody and may receive up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation is being carried out under the procedural guidance of the Bilhorod-Dniester specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Southern region.
