The advisor on gender issues of the Armed Forces of Ukraine proposes to introduce mandatory military service for women.

Oksana Grigoryeva, adviser on gender issues of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, presented an initiative to restore conscript service in Ukraine, which is also provided for women. She has her position voiced during the “Women’s War” conference.

“Let’s say I’m in favor of resuming military service. Let these girls go through this training even abroad. NATO will help us here. But they need to be trained.” Grigorieva said.

In response to a question about the expediency of forced mobilization of women, Grigorieva said that Ukrainian society is not ready for this at the moment and will not accept such a decision.

“There will be a lot of protests. We have a lot of different women’s movements — political, human rights, etc. — but we don’t have any movement for the mobilization of women.” – added the worker.

It will be recalled that on March 11, Grigoryeva stated that there are currently no grounds for mandatory mobilization of women in Ukraine, as there are still “enough men hiding under skirts”:

“They object that the rights and duties should be the same, because it is written in the Constitution. But our women were not included in the training system, were not subject to conscription. This was not legalized. And now, during the war, I believe that we should not mobilize women, especially since we have enough men who can be mobilized and not hide under women’s skirts.”
