The American and Ukrainian delegations will hold another meeting after the meeting between the United States and the Russian Federation

Delegations of the USA and Ukraine will be held another round of talks after the conclusion of the meeting between the United States and Russia in Saudi Arabia.

During today’s meeting, the representatives of the Russian Federation and the USA will consider the developments that were agreed upon with the Ukrainian side the day before, in particular regarding the ceasefire. Among the topics of discussion are the cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure and civilian objects, as well as the cessation of strikes in the Black Sea.

The Ukrainian side expects that the American delegation will be able to reach certain interim constructive agreements with Russia, although the general attitude towards the results is quite restrained, the source said. Negotiations between the USA and Russia started on March 24 in Saudi Arabia. The meeting is being held behind closed doors — journalists have been asked to leave the territory of The Ritz-Carlton hotel, where negotiations are ongoing.

The American delegation at the negotiations is represented by Director of Policy Planning under the Secretary of State Michael Anton, assistants to US Special Representative Keith Kellogg, as well as representatives from the office of National Security Adviser Michael Waltz. On the Russian side, Senator Hryhoriy Karasin and adviser to the Director of the FSB Serhiy Beseda are participating.

The day before, on March 23, a meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations took place in Riyadh. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the security of energy facilities and critical infrastructure.

Following the results of the meeting, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov, said that “the discussion was productive and purposeful.” The Ukrainian side was also represented by the deputy head of the President’s Office Pavlo Palis and other representatives of diplomatic and military structures.
