The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice upheld Nasirov’s sentence to 6 years in prison
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the sentence of former head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov. Thus, Nasirov was finally sentenced to six years in prison, and the sentence has already entered into legal force.
The statute of limitations in this case expired in mid-April 2026. Therefore, if the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice had not had time to consider the submitted complaints, Nasirov could have avoided punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
The former head of the State Fiscal Service was found guilty in the case of making illegal decisions in favor of companies of former MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko.
The consideration of this case has been ongoing since 2017. According to the investigation, in 2015-2016, Nasirov facilitated tax evasion by companies associated with Onyshchenko. As a result, the state suffered losses of 2 billion hryvnias. Onyshchenko himself, according to the investigation, organized a corruption scheme to embezzle funds from the state-owned company “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”.
In addition, another case is being investigated against Nasirov. The investigation believes that he received a bribe of more than 722 million hryvnias for assisting in the reimbursement of VAT to legal entities controlled by the owner of the agricultural holding in the amount of more than 3.2 billion hryvnias. The names are not mentioned in the investigation materials, however, according to media reports, it concerns oligarch Oleg Bakhmatyuk, the owner of UkrLandFarming.
