The Armed Forces of Ukraine denied information about the presence of military personnel from the DPRK in the Kharkiv region
There are currently no troops from North Korea in the Kharkiv direction. About this reported the press service of the operational-tactical group “Kharkiv” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We inform you that the statement about the presence of North Korean military personnel on the territory of the Kharkiv region is untrue. The person who is the primary source of this information is not the official speaker of the Kharkiv Technical University and commented on the operational situation outside of his competence”, – stated in the statement.
Earlier, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC, announced that Russia had transferred part of the North Korean military to the Belgorod region, which borders the Kharkiv region. In addition, the commander of the 153rd OMBr, Nazarii Kishak, stated during a national telethon that North Korean troops were spotted in the direction of Kharkiv. Later, the spokesman of OTU “Kharkiv” Yevgeny Romanov confirmed this information in a comment to “Suspilno”.
The press service of OTU “Kharkiv” added that the situation in the Kharkiv direction currently remains without significant changes. The Ukrainian military continues to effectively restrain the onslaught of the Russian occupation forces.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously informed that on October 23, the first units of the North Korean military arrived in the combat zone of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Their presence was recorded in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
