The Armed Forces of Ukraine freed Mykhailivka, Volodymyrivka and Zeleny Gai in Donetsk region from the Russian military: Syrskyi
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported about the successful counterattack of Ukrainian troops on Daughters Mykhailivka, Zeleny Gai and Volodymyrivka were liberated from the Russian military. He also noted that the defense continues in the Pokrovsky direction, and the provision of Ukrainian units has been strengthened.
“Our troops successfully counterattacked and cleared the enemy from the villages in Donetsk region – Mykhailivka, Zeleny Hay, Volodymyrivka”, the commander-in-chief reported.
Syrsky clarified that he personally visited the Pokrovsky area, where he talked with the military personnel who are holding the defense. He listened to the reports of corps and brigade commanders, and also worked at command posts.
“The situation is really difficult, the enemy concentrated his main efforts on this part of the front. But we have to hold the line. Assistance in the organization of hostilities will be provided. The issues regarding additional ammunition, drones and EW devices have been resolved, the Commander-in-Chief noted.
Third Army Corps announced about the restoration of control over the village of Novomykhailivka:
“A successful offensive operation has been conducted. The units defeated the occupiers and regained control over the settlement of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. According to intercepts, the operation caught the occupiers by surprise. The enemy lost about a company of personnel and was forced to transfer reserves from other areas of the front.
The corps clarified that as of August 24, Novomykhailivka has been completely cleared of Russian troops and is under the control of the Ukrainian army.
