More than 164,000 residents of remote communities of Ukraine received access to medical services from the mobile teams of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
More than 164 thousand residents of remote communities received medical assistance thanks to the work of mobile teams of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which operate in every region of Ukraine. They provide services for the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, carry out epidemic surveillance and are responsible for immunoprophylaxis of the population in their regions.
Since the beginning of 2025, mobile teams of the Center for Health Care in cooperation with regional health departments and doctors have provided medical assistance and vaccination for 164,917 Ukrainians in 716 communities of the country. During preventive visits, 38,442 people received outdated preventive vaccinations, and 137,681 people underwent consultations with family and highly specialized doctors, primary testing for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, including blood pressure measurement, blood glucose level, cardiogram, fluorographic examination, as well as rapid screening for detection of hepatitis B and C, HIV infection and COVID-19.
Mobile visits are aimed at expanding access to free and high-quality medical services for people in remote communities, in particular in settlements with temporarily difficult access to comprehensive medical care. These are, in particular, de-occupied territories and places where emergency situations arose or were eliminated, such as, for example, in the affected areas after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP in 2023.
We would like to remind you that on October 1, 2023, Law of Ukraine No. 2573 “On the Public Health System” entered into force. It provides for the creation of a comprehensive public health system and its integration into the European network in accordance with world standards. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention integrate existing regional capacities — laboratory infrastructure, monitoring and evaluation units, emergency response units, etc. At the oblast level, these centers are responsible for disease control, from routine monitoring to forecasting, detection and response to emergencies and outbreaks.
