The Armed Forces of Ukraine have created a new Joint Forces Group under the command of Mykhailo Drapaty

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have undergone structural changes – a new Joint Forces Group (JFG) has been created. This was reported by the press service of the Joint Forces Group.

“It will be almost entirely managed by the Joint Forces Command (JFC) under the leadership of Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, who previously commanded the Khortytsia and Dnipro Joint Forces Commands. The area of responsibility of our Command covers the Kharkiv region and adjacent territories. The corps focused on this direction will be directly subordinate to the newly created JFG. This is – experienced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Guard of Ukraine, – the UOS noted.

Let us recall that on June 1, Russian troops attacked a training unit of the Land Forces of Ukraine, as a result of which 12 people were killed and more than 60 were injured.

After the tragedy, the commander of the Land Forces, Mykhailo Drapaty, resigned, taking responsibility for the events at the training ground. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky accepted his resignation and appointed Drapaty as commander of the Joint Forces. In the summer, the operational-strategic grouping of troops “Khortytsia” was renamed the “Dnipro” operational-strategic grouping of troops. Today, the Telegram channel changed its name again to “Group of Joint Forces”.

“Khortytsia”, and later “Dnipro” were responsible for the Eastern operational direction: these are the territories of Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including key sections of the front – Izyum, Lyman, Lysychan, Kurakhiv, Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Vuhledar directions.
