The Baltic countries are completely disconnected from the Russian power grid

On February 8, the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia successfully completed the process of disconnection from the Russian energy system. About this informs LSM.
The Latvian company “Augstsprieguma tīkls” said that the shutdown went without problems, and no failures in the Latvian power grids were recorded. The Ministry of Climate and Energy of Latvia also confirmed the successful completion of the process.
So far, operators “Elering” (Estonia), “Augstsprieguma tīkls” (Latvia) and “Litgrid” (Lithuania) have started synchronized isolated performance tests. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia planned in advance to disconnect from the Russian power grid and synchronize with the Western European power system.
We remind you that the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova are fully synchronized with the continental power grid of Europe “ENTSO-E”. The relevant decision was made by the system operators of “ENTSO-E” on March 11, 2022, and the physical connection of the energy systems took place on March 16 of the same year.
