The Cabinet of Ministers allowed citizens to be automatically registered for military service.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution on the implementation of a pilot project that provides for the automatic registration of conscripts, military conscripts and reservists. As reported by the Ministry of Defense, the initiative is aimed at simplifying procedures and reducing bureaucratic processes for both citizens and territorial recruitment and social support centers.

As part of the experiment, some citizens will be registered for military registration without personal applications to the Central Military District and the Joint Service Center, waiting in lines and submitting additional documents. This includes men who did not register for military registration at the age of 17 – after reaching the age of 18, they will automatically acquire the status of a conscript. Automatic registration will also apply to men aged 18 to 60 who are abroad: in such cases, the procedure will take place during the registration or exchange of passport documents in the units of the State Migration Service without the need to visit the CCC and SP or undergo a military medical commission.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development Oksana Ferchuk explained that for the implementation of the project, information exchange has been ensured between the Ministry of Defense, the State Migration Service, the Unified State Demographic Register and the Register of Civil Status Acts.

“A person no longer needs to run around offices and stand in queues to fulfill his duty. The system will do this automatically because it already has all the necessary data, she said.
