The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Tsyvinsky as Director of the Bureau of Economic Security

At a meeting on August 6, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi as the head of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB). He was chosen based on the results of an independent competition. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

“We look forward to updating the work of the bureau, strengthening the institution and achieving a significant level of trust between the bureau and Ukrainian entrepreneurs”, – said Svyridenko.

She added that it is important for the economy to avoid the influence of shadow schemes. According to her, Oleksandr Tsyvinsky passed a polygraph and “there are no reservations about his candidacy.”

In the Anti-Corruption Center stated, that this appointment was the result of a competition held with the participation of international experts. It was also the result of peaceful street protests that took place in July.

“However, the appointment of Tsyvinskyi is only the first real step towards launching the BEB reform and rebooting the body. But this is a chance for change. It depends on society, the media and international partners whether this chance will be realized. For real changes, you need to continue reforms, carefully monitor the processes of BEB reboot”, – emphasized the Central Committee.

We will remind, according to the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund, the government had to appoint a new permanent head of the BEB by the end of July 2025.
