The Cabinet of Ministers approved an increase in scholarships for cadets of military educational institutions
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the resolution prepared by the Ministry of Defense, which provides for an increase in financial support for cadets of higher military educational institutions, military units in higher education institutions, as well as specialized advanced military institutions. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
“Increasing financial support is the implementation of an initiative announced by the President of Ukraine during a personal meeting with cadets. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have the highest level of trust in Ukrainian society – more than 90%. This is a huge resource of support that we must strengthen, including through the development of military education.
Our future officers should not only receive quality knowledge and training, but also feel confident about their future. And this is only part of the complex changes in higher military education implemented by the Ministry of Defense”, – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
According to the deputy minister, the increase in financial support will contribute to the growth of interest among Ukrainian youth in entering military educational institutions with subsequent service in the Armed Forces and other structures of the Defense Forces.
Currently, cadets receive financial support in the range of 2,880–3,145 hryvnias. After the introduction of new norms, payments will amount to approximately 8,000 hryvnias. In addition, graduates with only “excellent” grades in the session, as well as those undergoing military training, will receive payments at the level of contract workers. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this level is 20,100 hryvnias.
The increase in payments is ensured thanks to the increase of official salaries and the introduction of allowances, in particular, for the successful completion of examination sessions. Funding is provided by the State Budget of Ukraine.
