The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft agreement regarding the activities of the Polish bank BGK in Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Poland, which concerns the activities of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) on Ukrainian territory. This was reported by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The document provides that the Polish state bank BGK will be able to work in Ukraine and provide financial and technical support to the Ukrainian government, state and private institutions and organizations.

It is about providing loans, grants, guarantees, export support and other financial instruments that will contribute to the implementation of projects for the recovery and development of Ukraine. Specific directions and projects will be determined in cooperation between the governments of the two countries together with BGK.

Recall that in May 2024, it was reported that BGK would start issuing loan guarantees for investment projects in Ukraine.

“The implementation of the investment part of the Ukraine Facility will begin in the third quarter of 2024, the funds will be transferred to authorized state institutions in EU member states. In Poland, such an institution is the BGK bank, – explained the chairman of the board of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) Andrzej Dykha.
