The Ministry of Education and Science awarded the winners and laureates of the “Teacher of the Year – 2025” competition

“Victory in the competition “Teacher of the Year” – this is not only a recognition of the professional skills of teachers, but also an opportunity to emphasize that the educational reform is moving in close dialogue with schools. The winners have proven that they – masters of their subjects – are active participants in the renewal of general secondary education, – the department noted.

During the meeting of Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nadiya Kuzmychova with the winners and laureates of the competition, the importance of the role of a teacher in a modern school and the need for further changes in the general secondary education system were emphasized. Key issues were discussed: improving the quality of education, the readiness of teachers to launch a specialized school, the academic freedom of teachers and strategic directions for reforming the sector.

“It is from you, those who work with our children daily and directly, that the achievement of the ideas of the New Ukrainian School depends. Each of you, the winners of the competition, becomes the center of professional communities, popularizes modern approaches to learning, shares your experience, best educational practices. And it is no secret that recognition in the community and in society is important for teachers. That is why steps are being taken now to adequately increase the level of teachers’ salaries, – emphasized Nadiya Kuzmychova.
