The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine significantly expanded the functionality of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, adding a number of important tasks to its competence. They are aimed at reintegration, support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and ensuring compliance with humanitarian law. About this reported in the Ministry of Development.
From now on, the Ministry of Development will be responsible for the formation and implementation of state policy in several key areas. In particular, it is the protection of the rights of persons who have undergone deportation, the reintegration of citizens returning from temporarily occupied territories, as well as the support of internally displaced persons. Special attention will be paid to the restoration and development of peaceful life in the liberated territories after their reintegration.
In addition, the ministry was tasked with collecting and systematizing information on violations of the rights of Ukrainian citizens. This applies to persons who were illegally deprived of their freedom due to the actions of Russian troops or the occupation administration. The Ministry of Development will also coordinate measures to support, protect the rights and interests of such persons, ensuring their rehabilitation and integration into society.
One of the innovations was the creation of mechanisms to restore ties between the residents of the temporarily occupied territories and the rest of Ukraine. A specialized web resource was launched for citizens in these territories, which allows safe viewing of Ukrainian news, even in difficult conditions of an information blockade.
