The Cabinet of Ministers has maintained the electricity tariff for the population during the heating season
The government has decided to extend the mechanism of imposing special obligations (PSO) on electricity market participants until April 30, 2026. This mechanism ensures price stability and accessibility of electricity for household consumers. Ukrainians will continue to pay UAH 4.32 per kWh for electricity during the heating season. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
She noted that the government has decided to extend the mechanism of imposing special obligations (PSO) on electricity market participants until April 30, 2026. This mechanism ensures price stability and accessibility of electricity for household consumers.
“Electricity prices for the population remain unchanged this winter. The government has extended the PSO for electricity until April 30, 2026. This means that during the heating season, citizens will continue to pay 4.32 UAH per kWh, ”Svyrydenko said.
According to her, the preferential price for consumers using electric heating has also been preserved. Thus, when consuming up to 2,000 kWh per month, the tariff will be 2.64 UAH per kWh, and when this limit is exceeded, it will be 4.32 UAH per kWh.
“This is part of a comprehensive program to support Ukrainians in winter. We are reducing financial pressure on families during the heating season,” the head of government added.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers also extended the term of special obligations (SDO) for natural gas market entities from October 31, 2025 to March 31, 2026. This decision concerns the supply of gas to household consumers, gas distribution system operators, the supplier of “last resort” and producers of electricity from gas.
