The Ministry of Culture announced the launch of the eBook program
The Ministry of Culture, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ukrainian Book Institute, are launching the “eBook” program aimed at encouraging reading and supporting the publishing industry. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Culture.
Within the framework of this program, citizens of Ukraine who have reached the age of 18 in 2024 will be able to receive 908 hryvnias from the state for the purchase of books within a year from the date of birth. These funds can be spent on paper, electronic or audio books in the Ukrainian language.
To receive funds, you need to apply through the “Action” application. After selecting the “eBook” service, the user will be able to go to a special link and open a “eBook” virtual bank card in one of the Ukrainian banks. If the application is approved, the funds will be credited to the card and must be used within three months. The program is financed from the state budget.
It will be possible to buy books only in Ukrainian in bookstores participating in the program. The list of such bookstores will be published on the websites of “Diya” and the Ukrainian Book Institute. Payment for books will be made without cash: either through a smartphone using NFC technology, or using the eKnyga card details on the bookstore’s website.
