The case of Kolomoiskyi: BEB adjusted the amount of losses by 1.3 billion hryvnias

The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BEB) changed the previously announced suspicion within a week, reducing the amount of the alleged seizure of funds by 1.3 billion hryvnias. About this stated lawyer Oleksandr Lysak.

“It is not the first time that the BEB has denied the content of its suspicions to Ihor Kolomoisky, changing them beyond recognition”, – he noted.

According to him, this behavior of law enforcement officers may indicate their lack of confidence in their own evidence.

The lawyer also emphasizes that between August 2023 and August 2024, BEB changed the wording of suspicions several times, each time naming different amounts of damages.

“At first it was about taking over 1 billion hryvnias of Naftohimik Prykarpattia plant, later – about 5.8 billion of Privatbank, even later – about 5.3 billion of “Privatbank” and “Ukrnafta”, and at the last stage – about 4 billion hryvnias “, – he added.

“The investigation does not have any evidence that would confirm that at least one hryvnia spent went to the account of Ihor Kolomoisky”, – noted Lysak.

The lawyer also draws attention to the fact that the financial statements of Privatbank for the period from 2013 to 2023, made public at the beginning of May 2024, do not in any way reflect losses that could be related to illegal actions in which Kolomoisky is suspected.

“We hope for a fair hearing of the case at the European Court of Human Rights”, – summarized Lysak.
