The chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detained on suspicion of illegal enrichment: SBU

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the deputy chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission and the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces, who is responsible for determining the suitability of servicemen for service. About this reported in the SBU press service.

According to the investigation, the official illegally acquired more than $1 million in assets during the full-scale intrusion. It is noted that this property was not declared, but registered for his wife, children and other persons.

During the searches, 152,000 US dollars and 34,000 euros were found in his possession. He is currently being prepared with a notice of suspicion under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which relate to illegal enrichment and declaration of false information. The issue of choosing a preventive measure and seizing his assets is also being considered.

The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of up to 10 years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation continues and is carried out under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
