The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada prepares letters to the SBI regarding the unauthorized detention of conscripts
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence initiated appeal to the State Bureau of Investigations regarding cases of unauthorized detention of conscripted citizens by representatives of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
“The committee is preparing the appropriate letters for the DBR, as such approaches to mobilization are unacceptable. Engineers, technologists, designers who have unique knowledge and experience, but due to the delay in booking, the state is losing them. The committee is preparing legislative changes to solve this issue“- emphasized the parliamentarians
At the meeting where the results of the draft law on mobilization were discussed, parliamentarians emphasized the inadmissibility of such actions and the need for a thorough investigation of each incident.
In addition, the committee considered the preparation of the draft law on demobilization, which is planned to be presented no later than October. The problems of booking employees of the defense-industrial complex and ways to solve them through legislative changes were also discussed.
This step of the committee is aimed at ensuring legality and observance of citizens’ rights during mobilization activities, as well as at improving legislation in the field of defense and military service.
The head of the committee Oleksandr Zavitnevich said that the draft law on demobilization should be presented no later than in October of this year.
