Ukraine set a new record for electricity imports in February
In February 2026, Ukraine set a new record for electricity imports – 1.26 million MWh were delivered in a month. This is 41% more than in January, when the volume of imports amounted to over 894 thousand MWh.
Hungary traditionally has the largest share in the supply structure – 49% of the total volume. Compared to January, imports from this country increased by almost 54%, which was the largest increase among all directions.

Despite political statements about a possible reduction in supplies, in February, electricity imports from Hungary and Slovakia, on the contrary, reached record monthly figures. Slovakia’s share in the total volume was 18%.
In general, compared to February 2025, electricity imports increased fivefold. At the same time, Ukraine does not export electricity in 2026.
