The court kept NABU detective Magamedrasulov in custody until October 21

On September 12, the Pechersk Court of Kyiv continued the arrest of the detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Ruslan Magamedrasulov, leaving him in custody until October 21.

Prosecutors insisted that he should remain in custody because of the risks of possible travel abroad, hiding from the investigation or possible pressure on witnesses. The defense denied these arguments, calling the case against Magamedrasulov an attack on NABU. He himself stated that during the detention the security forces used physical force on him.

In court, SBU representatives presented as evidence an audio recording of his conversation with his father, in which he allegedly discussed the supply of products to Dagestan and trade with Russia. Correspondence with similar references was also demonstrated. Magamedrasulov confirmed the fact of the conversation, but emphasized that the context was distorted and there was no mention of Dagestan. The lawyers assumed that it was Uzbekistan, not Dagestan.

The defense emphasized that the materials include a preferential program for the sale of hemp, which operates specifically in Uzbekistan, while such a program does not exist in Dagestan. In addition, the contact of the company to which they planned to sell the products allegedly belongs to a children’s rehabilitation clinic. At the same time, the firm from Dagestan, referred to by prosecutors, has been under investigation in Russia since 2023 and has been banned from operating.
