The ESBU conducts searches at Kolomoisky’s ferroalloy plants

The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BEB) has exposed two ferroalloy plants in large-scale tax evasion in the amount of almost 1.2 billion hryvnias during the export of products. As informs BEB press service, searches are currently being conducted at these enterprises. The names of the plants are not disclosed, but the entire production of ferroalloys in Ukraine belongs to the group of Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
According to the investigation, for a long time the enterprises exported ferroalloy products to Austria, Cyprus and other European countries at significantly reduced prices. This made it possible to avoid paying taxes in large volumes, causing losses to the state in the amount of 1.2 billion hryvnias.
The investigation showed that about 90% of the manufactured products were sent by the factories for export, but the foreign exchange revenue from the sales did not go back to Ukraine. One of the factories accumulated debts to the state in the amount of 1.1 billion hryvnias for products sold abroad. In total, in 2022-2023 alone, enterprises exported raw materials worth approximately $853 million.
On the basis of court orders, BEB detectives conduct searches at these enterprises, looking for remnants of ferroalloy products, financial documents and other materials that may become evidence of illegal activity.
The investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns evasion of taxes, fees or other mandatory payments.
