The European command plans to create two ground groups in Ukraine

Within the plan for the deployment of troops in Ukraine, which was developed by the European military command, the creation of two separate land groups is foreseen. About this notifies The Wall Street Journal.

The first group will have the task of training and providing assistance to the Ukrainian military, while the second will deal with the formation of a “deterrence force” designed to prevent new manifestations of Russian aggression. There are already commitments to deploy more than 10,000 military personnel.

Ukrainian airspace will be patrolled by aircraft of NATO countries, which will be based outside of Ukraine. Currently, European states are waiting for the decision of the administration of US President Donald Trump regarding the level of support from the United States.

Let us remind you that on September 4, the leaders of several European states, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, gathered in Paris to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine.

Before the meeting of the “coalition of the willing” French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the work on the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine has been completed. He emphasized that the allies’ contributions are documented and confirmed at the level of defense ministers.
