The first payments of UAH 6,500 for vulnerable citizens have started in Ukraine

The first payments of UAH 6,500 have begun in Ukraine as part of the “Winter Support” program for vulnerable categories of the population. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

“The first payments of UAH 6,500 have begun for vulnerable categories of citizens. Some banks are still making payments. In total, 323,443 people have already applied for this payment, – she noted.

Svyrydenko emphasized that assistance can be applied for through the “Diya” application or at the Pension Fund branch until December 17.

The program is designed for people who need the most support:

  • children under guardianship or care;
  • children with disabilities raised in family-type orphanages and foster families;
  • children of internally displaced persons who receive housing benefits;
  • children from low-income families;
  • people with disabilities of group I among IDPs;
  • single pensioners with a care allowance.

The funds received can be used to purchase medicines, clothing and footwear within six months of receipt. In total, the program will cover more than 660 thousand people who need additional support during the winter period.
