The first Ukrainian defense drone factory opened in the UK

The first Ukrainian defense plant has started operating in the UK. This was reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine in London, Valeriy Zaluzhny. This is a production site of the Ukrspecsystems company, whose drones have demonstrated effectiveness in modern high-tech warfare. As Zaluzhny noted, the opening of the enterprise is of strategic importance.

“The launch of production in the UK has a deep strategic logic. This is not a transfer of the center of gravity from Ukraine. This is an expansion of our joint capabilities and the creation of a second resilience loop that guarantees the continuity of production,” he emphasized.

The ambassador emphasized that the engineering expertise center remains in Ukraine, while the production facilities are integrated into the British defense sector.

“We are creating a new quality of partnership, when allies not only support each other, but also form a common industrial security base,” Zaluzhny added.

Ukrspecsystems has been operating since 2014 and is known for developing effective unmanned systems. Its key products include the PD-2, Gekata and Shark reconnaissance systems.

Earlier, on September 11, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed an agreement on the joint production of Ukrainian interceptor drones. The British Ministry of Defense reported that the first joint project will be a modern air defense interceptor drone called Project Octopus.
