The forces of unmanned systems hit the Saratov Refinery
On the night of September 20, 2025, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces and under the general direction of the General Staff strike the Saratov Oil Refinery in the city of Saratov.
This facility provides about 2.54% of the total volume of oil refining in Russia, which is more than seven million tons of oil annually. Explosions and a large-scale fire were confirmed in the vicinity of the plant, the final results of the attack are being clarified.
On the same day, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces attacked the Novokuibyshev Oil Refinery in the city of Novokuibyshevsk, Samara Region, which processes more than 8.8 million tons of oil every year. According to preliminary data, explosions and fires were recorded at the object, the information is being clarified.
In addition, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out fire damage to the main transport infrastructure facility — the line-production-dispatch station “Samara” in the village of Prosvet, Samara region. This production facility plays a key role in blending high- and low-sulfur oil from different fields to form the Urals oil export grade, which accounts for up to half of Russia’s total exports. The results of the strike are currently being clarified.
All affected objects are of strategic importance for the provision of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
