The former Secretary General of NATO told when the war will end

Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen believes, that the war in Ukraine will last at least until the end of 2024. He noted that Russia failed in its initial plan for a quick victory and now hopes to freeze the conflict and weaken the West’s support for Ukraine.

“Putin’s Plan A – to conquer all of Ukraine in a few days – failed. His Plan B – a frozen conflict and Russian occupation of Eastern Ukraine in the hope that the West will weaken and give in.”, – said Rasmussen in an interview with the German television channel N-tv.

He also added that Putin hopes for changes after the US presidential election in 2024.

In my opinion, next year will be decisive. If we give the Ukrainians everything they need to not just survive, but win the war, they have a good chance of pushing the Russians out“, Rasmussen stressed.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen is a Danish politician, former Prime Minister of Denmark (2001-2009) and Secretary General of NATO (2009-2014). From 2022, together with the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, he heads the international advisory group on security guarantees for Ukraine.
