The government postponed the mandatory installation of payment terminals for individual entrepreneurs of the first group
The government has postponed the obligation to install payment terminals for individual entrepreneurs of the first group until the end of martial law and for another three months after its termination. The decision was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the step was taken after appeals from representatives of small businesses, for whom the use of POS terminals in the current conditions is financially burdensome.
“The decision was made in response to appeals from small businesses, for whom servicing POS terminals today creates additional financial pressure”, Svyrydenko said.
The Government notes that the postponement will allow entrepreneurs to prepare for the introduction of cashless payments without haste and in the future independently determine the optimal method of accepting payments – through POS terminals, mobile applications or QR codes.
Against this background, the Government also draws attention to the dynamics of citizens’ savings: as of December 1, 2025, the total volume of deposits of individuals, including individual entrepreneurs, in Ukrainian banks reached UAH 1,552.8 billion, which is UAH 18.0 billion more than a month earlier.
