The head of the department of Kharkiv University was arrested for a bribe of 10,000 dollars
The arrest of the high-ranking official took place immediately after he received the desired amount of money from the man.

The head of the department of one of the Kharkiv universities was detained for extorting money for admission to study for the master’s degree. In June of this year, a scientist told a man who wanted to enter a university that it would cost 10,000 US dollars. About this informs the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspect claimed that this sum would ensure not only unimpeded entry, but also the possibility of avoiding mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces. In addition, he promised support during the introductory campaign and solving all possible problems. He emphasized that without this amount it will be impossible to enter a university.
The scientist was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after he receives the specified amount of money. Currently, the issue of selecting him as a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Khrupp No. 1 of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, and operational support is provided by the 7th Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
The press service of the prosecutor’s office reminds that according to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
