The joint communique of the Peace Summit: which countries supported and which refused

The final declaration of the Peace Summit in Switzerland may not be signed by all conference participants, Austrian Chancellor Karl Neghammer said the day before. He explained that this is a matter of diplomatic nuances that do not affect the main positions, so it does not bother him much.

Neghammer also noted that one more conference may be held before the start of negotiations with Russia.

According to Western media reports, not everyone signed the declaration. Participants from 80 countries and representatives of four international organizations agreed with the final communiqué. In total, delegations from 101 countries and organizations took part in the conference. Among those who did not sign the declaration are Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, India, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, the Vatican, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, Qatar, Indonesia, and Libya.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that the summit brought significant progress and emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s military support. According to him, no alternative peace plans were discussed at the summit, and the text of the final declaration is balanced.

“We confirm together that international law and the UN Charter should be the basis for establishing a just peace in Ukraine. The people of Ukraine have the right to protect their children, their homes, their land. Together we protect a world based on the rule of law, rules that we all agreed to follow. This is the way we will move forward and avoid a return to the dark past.” – said Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
