The Kremlin reacted to Trump’s statement about the possible supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine
Russia said that the possible supply of American Tomahawk cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine would mean an “escalation of the conflict”. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov, according to rosZMI.
According to him, we should wait for clearer decisions from Washington:
“We understand that we need to wait for clearer statements, if there are any. As for arms deliveries, first they happen, and then there are statements – at least this has always been the case under the Biden administration, we know this very well. This time we will see”.
Peskov emphasized that Russia’s position regarding the US supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine was “unambiguously stated by Putin”.
“This will be a round of escalation, but it will not be able to change the situation for Kyiv”, he added.
Recall that on October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that if the United States hands over Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine for strikes deep into Russia, this will lead to the destruction of Moscow’s relations with Washington.
On September 28, US Vice President JD Vance said that Washington is discussing the possibility of supplying Tomahawk to Ukraine, but the final decision rests with US President Donald Trump.
Tomahawk cruise missiles have a range of up to 2,500 kilometers, which means that if Ukraine were to receive them, Moscow and the entire European part of Russia would be in the crosshairs.
