The Ministry of Defense announced the procurement of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026
The “State Operator of the Rear” of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced large-scale procurement of food products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026. This is the first time that procurement has been organized for the whole year at once, and not for half a year, as was the case before. The total expected value of the contracts is about 37 billion hryvnias.
This format will ensure stability in the supply of food to military units, and will also create predictable conditions for suppliers. Manufacturers will be able to plan production volumes in advance, which minimizes the risks of delivery disruptions and allows them to respond more quickly to the needs of the army.
The new contracts provide for enhanced control over the quality of supplies, especially for dairy products. This approach should make counterfeiting impossible and ensure that only safe and quality products will be delivered to the front and rear.
The regional supply model, which has proven its effectiveness in the previous period, will also continue to operate. Under this scheme, each supplier is assigned to a specific region or area, which allows for effective logistics management, reduced delivery times, and rapid response to changes in the needs of military units.
According to data as of the end of October 2025, more than 599 million kilograms of food have already been shipped, more than 249 million liters of drinking water have been delivered, and more than 85 thousand applications from military units have been processed within the framework of the work of the “State Operator of the Rear”.
