The list of full-time positions of the rank-and-file, for which Ukrainian citizens can sign a contract for service in the Armed Forces within the framework of the Ministry of Defense project “Contract 18-24”, increased double.
According to the order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated April 14, 2025 No. 60, the list was expanded from 9 to 18 positions. New military accounting specialties were added to it, in particular: according to VOS 100 — senior rifleman service number; according to VOS 101 — machine gunner and machine gunner-reconnaissance; according to VOS 103 – senior gunner; according to VOS 106 — scout-gunner, scout-operator, scout-radio operator, scout-operator, senior scout-shooter-sniper.
Prior to this, the list included positions such as gunner, senior gunner, sniper gunner, medical gunner, assistant grenade launcher, grenade launcher, senior grenade launcher, scout and senior scout.
We will remind you that the “Contract 18-24” project, officially launched by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in February, is aimed at young people aged 18 to 24 who are ready to join the Defense Forces for one year under a contract.
The program includes financial support in the amount of 1,000,000 hryvnias: 200,000 hryvnias will be paid immediately after signing the contract, and the remaining 800,000 will be paid in two stages later. Volunteers are guaranteed a monthly stipend of up to 120,000 hryvnias, with additional payments for combat missions, which can increase their annual income to 2,000,000 hryvnias.
Additional benefits include the possibility of obtaining a “zero” mortgage, state-funded education, free medical care (including dental prostheses), and the right to travel abroad after completing a year of service. The law also guarantees exemption from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract.
