The Ministry of Development and Trade approved 23 new projects to restore Ukraine’s infrastructure

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine has approved funding for 23 new projects under the Ukraine Recovery Program III. The program, implemented jointly with the European Investment Bank, aims to restore critical infrastructure, from medical facilities to water supply and shelter, to accelerate the recovery of war-torn regions. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

The decision was made following three meetings of the expert working group, which prepares and coordinates the implementation of joint projects with the EIB. The new initiatives cover three regions of Ukraine.

In Sumy region, eight projects are planned to be implemented: reconstruction and repair of medical facilities in Konotop and Okhtyrsk communities, arrangement of shelters in Dubovyazivska and Sumy communities, restoration of sewage and treatment networks in Glukhiv and Sumy communities, and construction of two water pipelines in Trostyanets community.

In Kharkiv region, nine projects have been approved, including emergency restoration work and major repairs of medical facilities in Dergachivska, Balakliya and Kharkiv communities, major repairs of educational institutions in Pechenizhska and Berestynska communities, reconstruction of water pipelines in Balakliya and Slobozhanska communities, restoration of a hydropower plant in Pechenizhska community, and arrangement of a shelter in a kindergarten Bilyaivska community.

Chernihiv region received six projects, which include the construction of a water supply system in the Horodnyanska community, the arrangement of shelters in a preschool and medical facility in the Bereznyanska and Ichnyanska communities, the construction of shelters in the Bobrovytska and Osterska communities, and the modernization of the drainage system in the Nizhynska community.

The financing is provided within the framework of Tranche B of the Ukraine Recovery Program III, the total amount of the agreement is one hundred million euros. These projects should not only restore damaged facilities, but also lay the foundation for sustainable infrastructure and safe life in communities in the future.
