The Ministry of Energy denied information about emergency blackouts across the country
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine denied the information, which is actively spreading in social networks, about the alleged introduction of emergency power cuts throughout the country. This was reported to the Ministry of Energy.
The department noted that false reports are often accompanied by fake schedules for various cities and the illegal use of the logo of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
“If you see a blackout message asking you to subscribe to an unknown Telegram channel for details, this is a sign of a scam and probably part of a Russian information and psychological operation”, – the ministry explained.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that in this way fraudsters are trying to increase the audience of their channels by spreading fake information. Reliable schedules of possible power supply restrictions, in the event of their introduction, are published only on the official resources of Oblenergo.
“In order not to become a victim of misinformation, we urge you to trust only verified sources. Always check the information on the official pages of NEC Ukrenergo, Ministry of Energy and Oblenergo in your region, – summed up in the Ministry of Energy.
Let us remind you that on the night of October 5, the Russian occupation army carried out a massive combined attack on the gas infrastructure, hitting civilian facilities that supply Ukrainians with gas during the heating season.
