The Ministry of Veterans Affairs launches an adaptation program for military personnel who have lost their sight

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs announced the start of accepting applications for participation in a specialized adaptation program for veterans who have lost their sight completely or partially as a result of the war.

The program provides for the provision of adaptation services taking into account the individual needs and capabilities of participants. The format may be different: individual, family (together with those who provide care) or group (up to 10 people). The choice of form will depend on the type, purpose, tasks and stage of assistance.

During the 21 days of participation in the program, veterans may be provided with accommodation and meals. All services are provided free of charge for those who meet the specified criteria, and financing is provided from the state budget: the ministry reimburses entities for the cost of services provided within the established maximum prices.

“The first partner of the program is Trinity Hub (Kyiv). This is a public organization with the necessary specialized equipment for training and adapted premises for people with visual impairments and low-mobility groups. It is here that the first group of participants will be formed. Contracting of other entities continues – the geography of service provision will expand”, – the department added.

The project is being implemented on the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 22, 2025 No. 1060 “Some issues of implementing a pilot project on providing adaptation services to certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and completely or partially lost their sight”.
