During the talks in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5, the US delegation proposed that Ukraine and Russia end the war by the beginning of the summer and will probably continue to insist on adhering to this schedule. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with the media.
According to him, the proposed terms are primarily related to domestic political processes in the US.
“Why by this summer? We understand that their internal issues in America have an impact and will probably become even more relevant for them,” the President of Ukraine noted. He added that later the priorities of the United States may change due to preparations for the by-elections to Congress. “Then the Americans will probably simply have a different priority — the by-elections to Congress,” Zelensky explained. The President also noted that the American side is determined to complete the process by June and seeks to have a clearly defined plan of action. data-end=”1296″>“They say they want to do everything by June. At the same time, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine has long proposed to the US to work according to a detailed phased plan.
