The Ombudsman appealed to the UN and the ICRC regarding the beheading of a Ukrainian soldier by the Russians

A video in which the Russians show a severed head, claiming that it belongs to a soldier of the Armed Forces, has spread online.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation committed a brutal murder of a Ukrainian soldier in the Kursk region. The video showing the severed head of a soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is another attempt by Russia to sow panic among Ukrainian defenders and intimidate civilians. About this reported the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.

“The enemy uses such videos to intimidate and demoralize Ukrainians. However, this only strengthens our desire to bring to justice all those who commit these inhumane crimes!”, he noted.

On August 16, a video was published on social networks in which Russian soldiers cut off the head of a probably Ukrainian soldier. According to the DeepState project, the video was shot on August 12 at the Kolotylivka checkpoint in the Belgorod region.

Earlier, on August 3, it became known about the brutal murder of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, whose head and limbs were cut off by the Russian military. Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, immediately appealed to the Red Cross, the UN and law enforcement agencies to investigate this crime.

We will remind you that on December 20, 2022, the Russian occupiers brutally shot an unarmed Ukrainian soldier after his words “Glory to Ukraine”. The SBU confirmed that the deceased was Oleksandr Matsievskyi, a sniper of the 163rd battalion of the 119th separate brigade of the TRO of the Chernihiv region. His body was returned to his homeland in February 2023.
