The People’s Deputy of Ukraine and his former assistant will appear before the court: Office of the Prosecutor General
Prosecutors of the General Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the court the indictment against the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation from the banned party “OPZZH” and his former assistant. About this reported press service of the department.
Both are accused of financing actions aimed at violently changing the constitutional order, seizing state power, as well as changing the borders of the territory and the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, the people’s deputy was additionally charged with treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that after the occupation of Crimea, the accused together with their proxies ensured the re-registration of the deputy’s real estate in Simeiza in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation. This property, acquired back in 2013 through controlled structures, was kept by the accused under the protection of the illegal formation “FGUP ‘Okhran’ of the Russian Guard in the Republic of Crimea”, with which a corresponding agreement was concluded in 2016.
The deputy and his assistant organized the transfer of more than 648.7 thousand rubles to the Russian Guard, which is participating in the war against Ukraine, for the protection of this property.
In addition, the People’s Deputy was recruited by the FSB of the Russian Federation and performed tasks for the benefit of one of the former deputy secretaries of the NSDC, who left for Moscow after 2014. In his public speeches and interviews, he systematically spread narratives beneficial to the aggressor state, undermining Ukraine’s national security.
The accused are currently in custody, and the pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU and the SBU with the support of the counter-intelligence units of the SBU responsible for the protection of critical infrastructure and combating the financing of terrorism.
