The President of Ukraine signed a law on the establishment of a postal bank
Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts on the Development of Financial Inclusion”, which provides for the emergence of a new type of banks – financial inclusion banks. About this reported Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev
According to him, the new banks will receive a limited banking license and will focus on serving citizens and micro-enterprises, especially in areas close to hostilities, in liberated territories, as well as among socially vulnerable groups of the population who have limited access to financial services.
The law details the procedure for obtaining such a limited license, establishes the rules for the activities of financial inclusion banks and provides the National Bank of Ukraine with additional powers to support the development of financial inclusion.
Banks of this type will be able to provide services to both individuals and enterprises, public organizations, charitable foundations, state bodies and local communities.
According to Getmantsev, potential participants in the project can include not only traditional banks, but also postal operators, large retail chains, gas station chains and other companies that already have an extensive network and experience in serving a large number of clients.
