Ukrainian refugees

The program for the return of Ukrainians from the Czech Republic has already started

Currently, the Czech Republic ranks first in terms of the number of refugees returning to the Motherland. In March alone, almost 21,000 more Ukrainians left the country than entered. Thus, the number of our fellow citizens in the Czech Republic decreased by 5%.

More than 400 refugees will go home

The country’s government plans to increase these numbers. In particular, a program to assist the return of Ukrainians to the Motherland was launched in June. More than 400 refugees will be able to receive compensation for train or bus tickets if they voluntarily decide to return to Ukraine.

The Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the program for the return of Ukrainians. In total, 5.5 million kroner will be allocated to the program. The funds will also be used to transport Ukrainians who need special medical care and support by special transport.

The compensation can be used only once. The application can be submitted by contacting the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The program will be valid until November.

There will be no free housing

The other day, the Czech government announced another disappointing news for refugees – with On September 1, they will not be able to use free humanitarian housing. From now on, even vulnerable categories of migrants can get a roof over their head free of charge only within 90 days after arriving in the Czech Republic. However, parents of children under 6 years of age, people with disabilities and pensioners can still receive financial assistance for full or partial compensation of the cost of renting a house.
