The Register of Museum Funds has been launched in Ukraine

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Tetyana Berezhna announced that the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to launch a pilot project to create the Register of the Museum Fund of Ukraine.

“We are building a convenient, transparent and secure system where we will combine information about all items of the museum fund of Ukraine on a single platform. Each museum will have its own office and free access to a unified interface. The digital register will allow monitoring, inventorying and controlling the movement of museum values in Ukraine and abroad.

It will provide access to data on museum collections and information on the search and return of stolen or lost exhibits. The registry will allow us to track the location of museum objects in real time, record any changes, and ensure the proper level of control over their movement and condition, said Tetyana Berezhna.

According to the minister, the pilot project will last up to two years, and its result will be the creation of a single digital database that will meet international standards.

“It will provide convenient access to information for museums, researchers, students, and the public. The tool will include a complex system of roles and accesses, an internal closed part, and integration with a public portal, and will allow us to exchange data with other museum platforms. Thanks to the registry, we will be able to implement a number of other projects and tasks faster. In particular, evacuation. This is an important project for the preservation of our cultural heritage, Berezhna added.
