The Russian Army has received a new batch of Su-35S fighters
The Russian United Aircraft Corporation announced the transfer of another batch of Su-35S multi-role fighters to the Russian armed forces.
According to available information, this is at least the sixth known delivery of aircraft of this type in 2025 – after shipments that took place in March, May, June, August and September. The number of transferred machines and the units that received them are not specified.
The Su-35S is produced at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant. The fighter is equipped with engines with controlled thrust vectoring, modern avionics and the “Irbis-E” radar station, capable of detecting targets at long distances. The model is based on the Su-27 and belongs to the 4++ generation. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, these aircraft have been actively used in combat operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The estimated cost of one Su-35S is about $100 million.
At the same time, open sources and Ukrainian defense reports indicate significant losses of Russian aviation. According to the monitoring resource Oryx, the destruction of at least eight Su-35S fighters has been confirmed, and the total losses of Russian aircraft of all types exceed 165 units.
As a reminder, on September 8, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that in 2025 Russia plans to produce 57 modern fighters, including the Su-57, Su-35, Su-34 and Su-30.
