The Russian Federation announced a fire on a ship in the port of “Primorsk” due to drone attack

On the night of September 12, as a result of an attack by 30 drones in the oil filling port “Primorsk” in the Baltic Sea, one of the ships caught fire, and there was also a fire at the pumping station. This was reported by the Governor of the Leningrad Oblast of Russia Oleksandr Drozdenko.

“In the port of “Primorsk” an outbreak on one of the vessels is eliminated. The fire extinguishing system worked. The fall of UAV wreckage and wreckage was recorded in Vsevolozhsk, Tosno, the villages of Pokrovske and Uzmine, as well as outside populated areas in the Lomonosiv district. There are no casualties, he noted.

The official clarified that the open burning on the ship was eliminated, and there is no threat of its flooding or spillage of oil products. According to Drozdenko, in “Primorsk” it was also possible to put out the fire at the pumping station.

He added that more than 30 drones were shot down over the Leningrad region:

“Debris of drones fell in Vsevolozhsk, Tosno, the villages of Pokrovske and Uzmino, as well as in the Lomonosov district”.

At the same time, the Russian authorities announced a night drone attack on Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, early in the morning on September 12, the Russian anti-aircraft defense system neutralized nine drones heading for the capital. The attack took place around 1:49 a.m. local time.

The governor of the Leningrad region announced that anti-aircraft defense measures have been introduced around St. Petersburg.
