The main topic of the Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen will be the safety of children, as the initiator of the event, the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, announced the day before. She emphasized that this summit is an important event not only for her personally, but also for the international community, which has turned into a global platform that benefits both Ukraine and the world.
“This is an important event both for me and for the international community of first ladies and gentlemen, which has rapidly developed and grown into a global platform that constantly operates and benefits Ukraine and the world. It is nice that we do not just exist, but that we are constantly developing and helping people” Zelenska said.
In addition, participants will discuss other important aspects of child safety, including dangers in the family such as violence, divorce, and parental kidnapping. Particular attention will be paid to educational issues, including both physical and psychological safety of children in schools. Digitization of education and security in cyberspace will also be discussed.
Another important aspect of the summit is the environmental safety of children. Zelenska noted that attention will be paid to this issue during all panels.
The event will attract many star guests, including renowned education expert Andreas Schleicher, American actor and film producer Michael Douglas, who is a UN Goodwill Ambassador, and journalist Anne Applebaum, who will moderate one of the panels.
“It will be a busy day, we expect many interesting guests. One of the panels will be moderated by the well-known journalist Anne Applebaum. There will also be well-known education expert Andreas Schleicher. We are waiting for Michael Douglas, he is the UN Goodwill Ambassador, and we hope he will make his contribution in what we want to bring to the general public. There will be guests and participants online – some first ladies and gentlemen and stars, people that everyone knows.”– said Zelenska.
The Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, initiated by Olena Zelenska in 2021, has become a global platform for solving humanitarian problems. Each of the previous events had a significant impact, with the second summit raising more than $6 million for ambulances, and the third summit concluding 25 memoranda of medical cooperation, later increasing to 44 agreements.
