The SBI completed the investigation into the corruption case regarding the purchase of computers by officials of the State Emergency Service
Officials of the State Emergency Service did not conduct an analysis of the market value of computer equipment and chose a company that sold equipment 30% more expensive than the market price.

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) completed a pre-trial investigation into officials of the State Emergency Service (SES), who purchased computers at inflated prices, which resulted in losses of over UAH 14 million. The indictment has already been sent to the court, informs press service of the department.
In cooperation with the SBU, the SBU established that the head of one of the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the head of the department of this unit purchased computer equipment at inflated prices. In October 2022, the Department of Emergency Situations announced a tender for the purchase of 2,050 sets of personal computers for a total of over UAH 44 million. The procurement was carried out through an auction, for which only one company submitted an application.
Officials of the State Emergency Service did not conduct an analysis of the market value of computer equipment and declared the winner the company that sold the equipment at a price 30% higher than the market price. Examinations confirmed that the purchase of computer equipment was carried out at inflated prices, which caused losses in the amount of more than UAH 14 million.
Officials of the State Emergency Service are accused of official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 5 years. Procedural management in this case is carried out by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
