The SBI detained former commanders, whose negligence led to the seizure of part of the Kharkiv region

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) together with the SBU detained three former commanders – two generals and a colonel, whose negligence led to the seizure of part of the Kharkiv region by Russian troops in May 2024. About this informs DBR press office.
“Former commanders of operational-tactical group “Kharkiv”, 125 separate territorial defense brigade and 415 separate rifle battalion of 23 separate mechanized brigades allowed the troops of the Russian Federation to capture part of the territory by their careless attitude to military service.” – the message says
According to the SBI, the actions of these commanders resulted in the loss of personnel and weapons, as well as the disruption of state border defense measures in their area of responsibility. As a result of these violations, the enemy was able to develop an offensive and capture the positions of units of the first and second echelons of the battalions. This led to the enemy breaking through the defensive line to a depth of 10 km and losing control over part of the territory along the state border of Ukraine.
After the detainees are brought to Kyiv, they will be notified of the suspicion of a military official’s negligent attitude to service, committed under martial law, which caused grave consequences (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
