The SBI informed about the suspicion of the ex-chief of the State Emergency Service of Kyiv region, who embezzled funds for the construction of a fire station
The former head of the main department of the State Service for Emergency Situations in the Kyiv region was informed of the suspicion of abuse of official position. According to the investigation, he organized a scheme of illegal enrichment during the construction of a fire station near Kyiv. This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation established that the official signed acts of completed works that did not correspond to the actual volumes and cost. After that, budget funds were transferred to the contracting company, part of which it received without reason.
“The inspection revealed numerous violations. In particular, the insulation of the facade existed only on paper, and the contractor did not use part of the building materials or replaced them with cheap analogues that did not meet the technical requirements, says in the message of the DBR.
As a result of such actions, losses in the amount of more than 3.6 million hryvnias were caused to the state budget. The former official is charged with an offense under Part 2 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code (official forgery) and Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Civil Code (appropriation or waste of property). Sanctions of these articles provide up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Currently, the seizure of his property has been initiated to compensate for the losses.
