40 million bonus: the Verkhovna Rada discussed the remuneration of the former head of Ukrenergo

During the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal commented on the payment of a record bonus of 40 million hryvnias to the former head of NEC “Ukrenergo” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi. People’s deputy from “Batkivshchyna” Oleksiy Kucherenko raised this issue, as can be seen from transcripts meeting published on the website of the Council.
“We all support energy companies at the expense of our payments, these 4.32 hryvnias/kWh include the tariffs of Ukrenergo, the salary of the manager, his bonuses, and the supervisory boards, and other companies that really today How do you personally assess Mr. Kudrytskyi’s 40-million bonus? If he is such a hero, can he be paid an honorary degree? If not, how can he be paid in such a situation?“, Kucherenko asked Shmyhal.
Shmyhal replied that he did not have details on this issue. He explained that financial relations and contracts of managers of state-owned enterprises are the responsibility of supervisory boards. If the decision on the award was made by the supervisory board, it is implemented according to the contract.
“To be honest, I do not remember whether we approved the contract by the government in this case, but the contract was officially approved by the supervisory board, the head of which you mentioned. Therefore, I am sure that everything is happening within the limits of the current legislation in accordance with the signed contracts. Comment details not ready now. If any of the government officials have details and comments, please comment. We can request this information from the supervisory board and provide it to you in response to your request.”, said the Prime Minister.
On September 2, the supervisory board of Ukrenergo dismissed Kudrytskyi. According to UNIAN, Kudrytskyi applied for voluntary dismissal in order to receive a severance pay of almost 40 million hryvnias.
“This is an unprecedented amount of payments to the head of a state-owned enterprise during the war. According to the decision of the supervisory board, Kudrytskyi was supposed to receive money to his account on September 4. This amount includes bonuses for 2021 and 2022 in full and half of the bonuses for 2023 and 2024 year”, the agency noted.
